Brook Annual Sexual Health
Conference
and Awards 2009
Safeguarding young people’s
rights to confidentiality:
The law and best practice
Thursday 5th March 2009,
The Brit Oval Conference Centre, London SE11
Working
with young people to meet their sexual health needs requires relationships
built on trust, confidentiality and understanding.
Considering
recent policy developments around mandatory reporting and the creation
of multi-agency information sharing, our national conference will be
an opportunity to find out about how improvements in the law can impact
your clients and organisation. The conference will highlight the importance
of maintaining young people's trust in services and discuss ways to
guarantee their right to confidential, non-judgemental health services.
Bringing
together professionals from Brook, the health sector, local and national
government, education, social services, the police and the voluntary
sector, this year's annual conference
is
an important opportunity to debate approaches to promoting safe sex
and to strengthen knowledge and skills, so that all professionals have
the confidence to protect young people and their rights.
