2nd Social Care Pre-Green Paper
Towards a new care and support system
Thursday 20th November 2008
Inmarsat Conference Centre, London EC1
Chair:
Stephen Burke
Chief Executive of Counsel and Care
The Department of Health pre-Green Paper consultation, which promises to change way social care services are funded, is due to close in late November.
This MJ conference, held in supported by Counsel and Care and the King’s Fund, will offer delegates a final chance to benchmark consultation responses against colleagues whilst hearing the latest government policy. Discussion around emerging evidence will be highlighted through best practice case-studies and delegates will be offered an early opportunity to hear the results of the national IB evaluation project.
Early learning from a number of initiatives will be showcased including: feedback from the individual budgets pilots; early intervention and prevention measures to prolong independence and the joining up of staff from across sectors and encourage and accelerate culture change within organisations.
This conference is the second in the Transforming Social Care series held in association with the MJ and Counsel and Care. The first conference held in July this year attracted over 200 senior policy makers and practitioners in social care services with a keynote address from Ivan Lewis MP.
