6th Annual
Conference
Effective Marketing in Higher Education
Leadership, Strategy, Innovation and Brand
20th November 2008
New Connaught Rooms, London WC2
Market pressures in higher
education are increasing rapidly. Changing demographics, growing global
competition and higher financial investments making students more demanding
customers are key issues facing marketing in higher education.
Effective marketing to attract and retain students is paramount and
it needs to be part of a coherent and sustainable strategy of an institution.
Institutions face demands to engage with their regional community, particularly
with business, and at the same time need to ensure that they set themselves
apart on a national market. Internationally, the UK is holding 12% of
the global market share of foreign students, but marketing efforts need
to be sustained to compete with the US’s increased recruitment
efforts and with middle eastern countries developing their own universities.
This important one-day conference will set out the strategic challenges
senior marketing and communications professionals are facing in higher
education. It will discuss pressures facing the sector and hear from
experts in higher education providing insides on current issues. This
conference will also be a platform for the exchange of best practice
and offer a platform for discussion and debate on how to tackle a variety
of the most prominent issues facing higher education marketing.
