Local Government and Business:
the future of commissioning and partnerships
This forum will set out how local competition, new providers, and effective commissioning will create new business opportunities to improve provision of services to build community economic wellbeing. The conference will specifically give delegates information about the role business can and will play under Local Strategic Partnerships and in meeting priority Local Area Agreement outcomes as a local government stakeholder.
Effective councils constantly engage locally based business in sustaining communities. Through commissioning new patterns of provision, moblising community assets, ensuring follow through from regeneration projects, developing under-used talent to meet skill shortages or creating jobs for local businesses; private sector engagement by councils is essential to build sustainable local economic communities.
This conference brings together representatives from local government suppliers and partners, LAAs, LSP;s local economic development, RDA’s, trade associations with central government to set out the opportunities for successful partnership working to build strong and thriving economic communities.
